How do I know if my solar panel is charged?
To test it, simply cover the panel (or turn it face down) completely to mimic darkness, if your lights turn on, it’s charged! If not, try charging it in direct sunlight for 6 – 8 hours.
Can I charge the solar panel with a USB-C?
Yes! Just plug a USB-C cable into the panel’s charging port (found at the back). A full charge via USB takes around 6 – 8 hours. Handy for cloudy days or indoors!
How long do solar lights stay on once charged?
On a full charge, most of our solar lights glow for up to 8 hours, just enough to get you through dinner, dessert, and a little dancing under the stars.
Are your lights waterproof?
Our outdoor lights are water-resistant with an IP44 rating (unless specified), meaning they can handle light rain and splashes. However, they shouldn’t be exposed to heavy rain for extended periods or submerged in water. For best results, place them under cover or bring them in during stormy weather.
Some of my bulbs aren’t working – what now?
No stress! Try turning the bulb tighter or looser until it lights up. Sometimes they just need a little wiggle. If they still don’t turn on, pop us a message, we’ll sort you out quickly.
Do you offer LED strip lights?
Not yet, but we’re exploring options! Sign up to our newsletter or follow us on Instagram to be the first to know when they drop.
How long do your lights last?
Our LED lights are designed to last up to 50,000 hours. They’re energy-efficient and safe to leave on overnight, making them perfect for both everyday use and special occasions.
Are your lights safe to use indoors and outdoors?
Yes! Our lights are designed with safety in mind. They’re suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, but always check the product specifications to ensure proper usage.
Do I need to create an account to place an order?
Not at all! You can go straight to checkout and complete your purchase without creating an account. If you’d like to set one up for easy access to your order history and faster future checkouts, there’s a quick option to do so at the end, totally up to you.
Do you offer returns or exchanges?
We want you to love your purchase! If you’re not satisfied, you can return your item within 30 days of purchase, provided it’s in its original condition and packaging. What should I do if I receive a faulty or damaged item?
We’re sorry to hear that! Please contact us immediately at info@stellarlighting.co.za with your order details and a description of the issue. We’ll work with you to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
Can I hang these myself, or do I need an electrician?
Most of our lights are designed for super easy DIY setup (no electrician needed!). We also have a blog post on hanging string lights like a pro, with tips for homes, restaurants, and glamping setups.
Do you have a physical store I can visit?
Yes, we do! Come visit our showroom at 22 Old Mill Road, Shop 10, Ndabeni, Cape Town. You’ll be able to view our lighting collections in person and shop your favourites right then and there.
